Darling International Inc. Announces Acquisition of Rendering Business

Darling International Inc. today announced that it has completed its acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Nebraska By-Products, Inc. Nebraska By-Products, Inc., headquartered in Lexington, Nebraska, is a leading provider of deadstock collection and rendering services in Nebraska, Kansas and parts of Colorado and South Dakota. The acquisition includes a rendering facility located in Lexington, Nebraska as well as several transfer stations. Darling International Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Randall Stuewe said, "We are pleased to have the opportunity to add this business to our portfolio and carry on Nebraska By-Products' long tradition of outstanding service to farmers, ranchers, and feedlot operators in the Midwest."

Darling International Inc. is the largest publicly traded, food processing by-products recycling company in the United States. The Company recycles used restaurant cooking oil and by-products from the beef, pork and poultry processing industries into useable products such as tallow, feed-grade fats, meat and bone meal and hides.
